Your College Riding Game Plan Starts Now

    AHJA Virtual Event

    Monday, May 4 | 6:00 PM

Designed for any students (especially middle school and high school), parents, and trainers who want to understand what college riding is really like—and how to prepare early.

Hear from a current D1 college rider, Kayla Scherer, sharing her real‑life experience, plus Maggie Anderson, a top academic college riding advisor, who guides families through planning, recruitment, and finding the right fit.

Learn how to start building a strong foundation as early as middle school and explore the many collegiate riding options available—far beyond just Division I.

    Don’t miss it!

Maggie holds a BA and MA from The George Washington University, and completed part of her master’s work at Boston College. She also has a certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. Maggie was an NCAA Division I athlete, captain of her squash team, and a student-athlete tutor during college. After graduate school, Maggie spent a season as an assistant coach and recruiter at Wellesley College, and then worked in admissions as a road warrior in the Boston area, before moving to Florida to pursue a career in education at the secondary level. Maggie spent four years as an Academic Director, tutor, and college counselor at Palm Beach International Academy, before moving onto a five-year tenure as the Head of School at Score Academy. Maggie has extensive experience advising students on strengthening their academic and extracurricular profiles, and has achieved great success over the past fifteen years helping students find the best college matches.

Maggie is an accomplished equestrian with more than 30 years of experience in the sport, and continues to compete in the hunters and jumpers in Wellington and Ocala, Florida. In addition to her love for equestrian sports, she follows professional tennis and basketball, as well as college football. Maggie is devoted to making the world a better place for human and animalkind. She enjoys cooking, concerts, traveling, and supporting animal rescue organizations.
